nGlide est un wrapper 3DFX Voodoo Glide, ce qui signifie qu'il émule la bibliothèque 3DFX Glide, vous n'avez donc pas besoin d'avoir une carte Voodoo 3Dfx pour jouer à des jeux écrits pour le Glide v2 API (glide2x.dll) et v3 (glide3x.dll). En réalité nGlide fait une conversion du Glide vers Direct3D qui lui est supporté par presque toutes les cartes graphiques d'aujourd'hui.
